Friedrichshafen—The AERO aviation trade show will celebrate its 30th birthday from April 17 to 20, 2024, marking the 30th gathering of the general aviation industry in Friedrichshafen at Lake Constance. The show will be accompanied by an extensive program of professional conferences. The new AERO Academy will also offer technical workshops and specialized safety training sessions for pilots.
Anniversary at Lake Constance: Next year, AERO will celebrate its 30th birthday! On the Saturday of the event, an hour-long airshow will commemorate the event and provide a spectacular showcase for the wide range of topics – from innovation to sustainability – addressed at the international aviation show. In addition, a dedicated exhibition will provide insights into the history of AERO Friedrichshafen, presenting milestones, innovations, and groundbreaking developments that have shaped general aviation and the show itself.
"After the success of AERO 2023, we’re looking forward to celebrating the fair's 30th anniversary together with exhibitors and visitors from around the world. Along with many anniversary specials, the upcoming edition of AERO will cover the entire spectrum of innovations in general aviation," said Tobias Bretzel, AERO Show Director at fairnamic GmbH, the event organizer. Over the four days of the fair, numerous manufacturers of motor aircraft, ultralights, gliders, helicopters, and jets as well as suppliers of avionics, propulsion systems, rescue systems, and other accessories will be presenting in 12 exhibition halls.
The major topic of AERO 2024 will once again be the transition of aviation towards greater sustainability. An integral part of this will be the e-flight expo, which started in 2009 as the world's first exhibition for electric aviation. Contained within AERO, this show focuses on innovative solutions and projects in electric flight, bringing together exhibitors and visitors from the sustainable aviation sector. The symposium on the use of hydrogen as an aviation propulsion, initiated in 2023, will be expanded to include battery technology, with the AERO Hydrogen & Battery Summit to start on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 16, and continuing through the first day of the fair. The AERO Sustainable Aviation Trail will provide a "green thread" for fair visitors, with all exhibitors with a strong focus on sustainability to be marked with a green balloon floating above their stands.
To address the shortage of skilled workers in the aviation industry, AERO 2023 launched a job fair. The next edition will be extended to two days and relocated to the highly frequented area between halls A and B. During the AERO Career Days on April 19 and 20, 2024, numerous companies and organizations from various sectors of aviation will present training and career opportunities. In addition, job seekers can gather information and discuss career options with industry representatives during the AERO Career Sessions.
On April 16, the day before the start of the aviation fair, the trade press will gather for the Aero Media Day to talk with leading experts and decision-makers from the industry and get an overview of the latest news and innovations.
