Joao Martins

Joao Martins, VP Regional FBO Operations Europe and General Manager Zurich Joao Martins took on the role of VP Regional FBO Operations Europe at Jet Aviation in 2020, and is responsible for leading the FBO business and growth in the region. In addition, he is General Manager of the Jet Aviation FBO in Zurich, a position he has held since 2016. He has overseen the expansion of the Zurich FBO with the acquisition of a second terminal and two hangars in 2021, and been instrumental in bringing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Jet Aviation’s customers in Europe. The company was the first to bring SAF to Switzerland, with a supply in Zurich for WEF 2020, and since then has continued to work in partnership to increase access in the region, including making SAF available on-site or via Book & Claim in Zurich for WEF, and Geneva for EBACE, and introducing permanent supply in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 2021, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 2024, and Basel, Switzerland, in 2025. Joao joined Jet Aviation as FBO Manager of the company’s Geneva FBO in 2014. A 20-year industry veteran, he has held a number of roles in both FBO and Charter operations in Portugal and Switzerland. He holds a degree in accounting and business administration from Lusófona University in Lisbon.
